Do you guys have any recomendations for a preferably light weight laptop for Architecture? I'm starting my degree this year, and I don't think my old laptop is going to cut it:( Sorry if you've been asked this before!
Honestly for grad just buy a desktop for two reasons. Way more power and you’re going to be in studio most of the week anyway.
Architecture as a whole may not be in the best of shape but don’t let that totally discourage you. The best advice I can give is too GET AN INTERNSHIP!!!!! I myself, studied abroad and took better paying jobs to pay for school during the summer and that has been my biggest regret. I’ve had interviews where they loved my work, loved my personality, but were shocked that I didn’t have experience….even though I just graduated. It becomes frustrating that experience is necessary for a ” beginner” architects position. Also a masters can bypass the experience thing which dosent really make sense to me because they are far from the same thing. Just be prepared and use every resource you have while your in school…and try and make connections with people in the business
PS - the best part of architecture is that you have other options when it comes to jobs, like almost any design career you’ll have a shot at
Heyy :] so I have a physical portfolio but I would like to create a digital one as well. I have not done a digital one before and was wondering if you guys had any advice as to what formats or programs to use etc... thanks :]
Photoshop, In Design and Illustrator. The holy trinity when it comes to Adobe Creative Suite.
